Hot Tub Installation Across the UK

Ensure your new hot tub is fully up and running

No Job Too Difficult

We’re often asked if we can deliver and install hot tubs to a variety of different locations across the UK. Even though many jobs have come with unique challenges, we always find a way to get the job done.

Tubs Direct has overseen plenty of deliveries and hot tub installations over the last few years. From renting a crane to carry out an installation on an apartment balcony to hiring a digger to get across muddy terrains, there are a number of ways to get your hot tub all set up and running.

While we are able to cover difficult jobs, the more information you can provide us with at the start, the better. If we’re carrying out a hot tub installation high up, in a congested area or in a very remote location, we need to plan ahead to ensure the installation goes smoothly. Please note that specialist equipment we have to rent will require additional expenditure.

How We Complete a Hot Tub Installation

Installing a hot tub requires a lot of patience and know-how. Luckily, we at Tubs Direct have plenty. Once we have delivered your hot tub, we can crack on with getting it set up and ready for you to use. Here’s everything we consider when completing a hot tub installation in the UK:

Hot tubs come in all shapes and sizes, which is why we need to make sure the one you want can fit in the space available. Please make sure that you have enough room for us to position your hot tub. If in doubt, feel free to ask us for help.

If steps and a cover lifter are also included, you’ll need extra room to accommodate.

For a hot tub installation to go smoothly, a flat and level surface is best for positioning. But hot tubs can be installed on all kinds of surfaces, including:

  • Decking
  • Concrete
  • Paving
  • Gravel

Each surface has different installation requirements though, so letting us know in advance helps us to prepare.

Access Route

As mentioned on our hot tubs delivery page, our van and trailer are roughly 7m long, and it’s important that we have enough room to park up and safely detach the trailer. A clear route from the van to the installation spot will also help us greatly.

If we can’t make our way past obstacles such as drainpipes and steps, or we can’t fit through a gate, we may need to hire additional equipment. A Hi-Ab will help us to get your hot tub over walls and fences, and we can also rent a crane to lift the hot tub over your property if necessary. This will mean additional hot tub installation costs, but we will run through these details with you beforehand to make sure you’re happy.

A qualified electrician is required by law to connect your hot tub to an electrical supply, and all hot tubs should be protected by an RCD waterproof plug socket. If these requirements are not met, we cannot complete the installation, so let us know if you need any help arranging any further assistance.

Depending on how many AMPs your hot tub needs, electrical installation costs vary. For a full breakdown of hot tub installation costs, check out our FAQs at the bottom of this page.

Your hot tub doesn’t need to be connected to a water supply, but you should be able to reach your hot tub with a garden hose to fill it up.

Hot Tub Installation FAQs

Can My Hot Tub be Installed Anywhere on My Property?

As long as it can fit in the allotted space, a hot tub can be installed anywhere you want. However, you should keep the following in consideration when choosing where to put it:

  • Access to power
  • Access to water
  • Proximity to neighbours
  • Overhanging trees
  • Room to remove and secure a lift cover

Do I Need a Technician to Install My Hot Tub?

We recommend having your hot tub installed by a trained technician for many different reasons. Technicians can complete the job quickly and safely, and they have the experience to resolve any potential issues that may crop up. It also saves you from a complicated job, meaning you can focus more on relaxing as opposed to faffing about with water and the electrics.

How Much Does a Hot Tub Cost to Install?

Every installation is different, so it’s hard to pinpoint an exact amount. However, here is a breakdown of the usual costs, which should give you a much better idea:

  • Delivery: Free
  • Hi-Ab lift hire: £150-£300
  • Crane hire: £400-£700
  • 13 AMP Installation: £75
  • 32 AMP Installation: £300-£350

I’m Not Sure a Hot Tub Can be Installed on My Property…

You’ll never know if you don’t ask. We’ve been involved with some very complex installations before, but we always find a way to get the job done safely and in good time. We work with partners who help us to carry out installations in hard-to-reach areas, and we’re more than happy to evaluate the suitability of your site before you place an order. Please keep in mind, though, that extra equipment will mean extra costs.
